On Monday 8th August contractors Davis Ogilvie will be on site at Hokitika Racecourse. They are undertaking a geotechnical ground survey on behalf of Council. There will be a mixture of test pits and augers as outlined below.
A health and safety plan is in place. Each excavated hole will be filled back in before another is dug.
The geotechnical work to the Racecourse will take place over 3 days. It will start near the A & P site and on day 1 will not be in areas occupied by horses. We are in discussion with users of the racecourse about how we approach those areas that are used for horses and how best to allow the works to progress and relocate horses during the short time the work is being undertaken.
