Westland District Council has confirmed the appointment of Evan Jones Construction Ltd as the main contractor for Stage 1 of the Hokitika Swimming Pool refurbishment. Some preliminary site investigation work has already been undertaken. The structural works are anticipated to take 11 weeks to complete from commencement. There will then be additional work required to bring the Pool back into use. The current plan is to have the works completed and the pool re open by early-November. The funding for the Swimming Pool has come from MBIE.
Mayor Bruce Smith says “We are delighted to be commencing the Hokitika Pool refurbishment work, in partnership with Evan Jones Construction Ltd which benefits the local community. As a local contractor it means the Council and Evan Jones Ltd continue to support the community and local economy”.
