AlphaOne / Objective Build

Building consents and additional documentation are to be submitted through our online Building Consent Portal.

The Westland District Council processes all building consents online via an electronic system called AlphaOne.

For any consents processed through AlphaOne, you can now download the documents from our website.

New system for online consent applications coming March 2023

From March 2023* customers will be able to apply for a consent through Objective Build, a new service designed to create consistency, transparency, and quality in building applications.

This new system has been built after interviews with over a hundred builders, architects, designers, and industry professionals across New Zealand to ensure it meets their needs. It improves the ability to reuse information across applications, clearly see the status of an application, action required updates, and manage a consent throughout the lifecycle.

The online platform is the first release of Objective Build, which aims to create a complete consenting system for New Zealand. The platform will connect seamlessly to backend council systems, allowing New Zealand to work across a single platform. Building and Construction industry professionals will have one account to handle all applications, instead of the multiple accounts they currently have.

Getting Started with Objective Build

To minimise any disruptions to you, we will work toward migrating all active consents (CCC not yet issued) into the new system. Once this has been completed, you will receive an email asking you to register for Objective Build. Please ensure you use the same email as you do for our current portal when you first set up Objective Build.

Your applications will be available in Objective Build at a date to be confirmed in March 2023. Until this time, please continue to submit consents via our current method.

Please note: any applications that are submitted to Council prior to go-live will need to be managed through to accepted state in the old system. We recommend that if the application isn’t urgent in the week leading up to the go-live date, that you submit the application in Build once it is live so you can manage the process end-to-end in one location.

Objective Build has lots of new features including updated status tracking, organisation management, templated applications and more. You can watch some videos of these here and here.
